MLK March, January 19th, 2026

On Martin Luther King Day in 2026, the town of Southern Pines hosted its annual MLK Day Parade. In honor of his “commitment to service, equality, and community”, several local organizations and chapters of national organizations marched in the parade.

Indivisible marched in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King and his accomplishments and what he represented.

Chapters of the NAACP, Indivisible, Moore County Democrats, the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, Hundreds of participants and individuals showed their support for civic institutions and responsibility by peacefully and joyfully marching through downtown southern pines among the shops and restaurants of their community and neighbors. The chilly weather did nothing to slow them down as they continued up Pennsylvania Ave, crossing the Highway 1 Bridge, culminating at the Southern Pines Land Trust.
