On 8 March 2025, hundreds of Moore County residents gathered for a vigil in support of the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Several guest speakers took to the stage to talk to the energized crowd.
This event came together to give an outlet to the ire the people of Moore County felt after the president of Ukraine, President Zelinski, was abruptly kicked out of the white house after a tense exchange between him and Trump and JD Vance. In which JD Vance complained President Zelinski wasn’t saying thank you enough to the US for its support during the war and for not wearing a suit.
The hosts of this event were the Moore County NAACP chapter, the Moore County Indivisible Chapter, and The Beloved Community. At the end of the vigil, hosts invited attendees to speak and passed around the microphone so guests could share their thoughts and voices.
